Pressure-wash restoration of a heavily stained stamped-concrete driveway. Years of mould and algae buildup completely removed using a controlled high-pressure cleaning process — restoring the brick-pattern stamping and original concrete colour in a single visit.
Before & After
What We Did
Surface inspection
Assessed the concrete condition, sealer integrity, and the depth of organic staining to set the correct pressure and technique for the job.
Pre-rinse and detergent application
Cleared loose debris with a low-pressure rinse, then applied a concrete-safe detergent to break down embedded mould and algae before the main wash.
Controlled pressure wash
Used a high-pressure surface cleaner attachment to clean evenly across the stamped pattern — preventing the streaking and uneven results you get from a standard pressure wand.
Final rinse and inspection
Rinsed off all residue, checked the surface for any missed areas, and confirmed the result with the owner before packing down.
The Result
The driveway came up dramatically — the brick-pattern stamping is clearly visible again, the original concrete colour is fully restored, and the property's street appeal is significantly improved. Total job time was a single visit with no disruption to the household.
A clean like this typically lasts 12–18 months on stamped concrete in Gold Coast conditions. We can recommend an annual maintenance schedule to keep it looking this way year-round.
Suitable For
If your driveway has gone dark or developed black patches, it's almost certainly mould or algae — and almost certainly cleanable. We can usually quote from photos or a quick site visit.
This stamped-concrete driveway and front entrance had built up years of mould and algae across the entire surface. The decorative brick-pattern stamping was barely visible, and the concrete had darkened to the point that the property looked tired from the street.
Stamped concrete needs a careful approach — the patterned surface and any factory sealer can be damaged by overly aggressive pressure or the wrong nozzle technique. We used a controlled surface cleaner attachment to deliver consistent, even pressure across the entire driveway, lifting the staining without etching the concrete or stripping the sealer. The result was visible within minutes of starting, and the full job was completed in a single visit.
Driveways are one of the most visible features of any property, and one of the easiest to neglect — partly because the buildup is so gradual that owners often don’t notice how dark their concrete has become until they see a comparison. A single pressure-wash visit transforms the look of the property and adds noticeable street appeal, for a small fraction of the cost of resurfacing or replacement.
